Book Design

“Melanated Voices” is a book of portraits that I painted. For this collection of paintings and stories, I wanted to connect with Black Americans in my community to highlight their personal anecdotes and thoughts surrounding racism, the violent deaths at the hands of police officers and the resulting protests. I wanted to take a snapshot of their current lives by painting their portraits and incorporating their voices - voices of anger, sadness, wisdom and inspiration
